Alright since Gatsby is coming up, may as well tell you why Gatsby is the most kick ass dude to have ever been written about. Bullet point time!

  • Rich because of his own aspirations.
  • Good lookin' dude that gets what he wants.
  • Hosts parties SOLELY to get the attention of the woman he loves.
  • Is a super genuine person even though his persona is false.
  • He sticks with his identity that he made for himself.
  • Sticks up for what he believes.
  • Is polite as hell and doesn't try to wrong anyone.
  • Is so ambitious that he built himself from dirt to extreme wealth.
  • Never resorts to violence in order to communicate his desires.
  • Knows that money is just for status and attaining what you want out of life.
  • Even though no one goes to his funeral he would not have given a damn because his best friend was there.
This guy is a literal embodiment of the kind of individual people should aspire to be like. If more people knew that they can get whatever they want out of life if they simply make the strides to do it, this world would be so much more fantastic. Wealth is not bad when you get it ethically and you work for it, a thought that is lost among my generation it seems. You can help millions of people if you do well for yourself.
My emphasis is going to be on a couple of songs that hold a lot of weight to me. Technically, songs are nothing more than sung poetry after all. So for  my first song I am am going to be discussing the song that my blog url is actually named after. This song is entitled, "Shadow of the Swastika" by one of my favorite bands, "Týr." This song is about no longer taking the blame for the mistakes of the past and at the same time not being ashamed of what you believe simply because an evil person in the past had held a same or similar belief.

Follow this link if you'd like to hear the song.

You who think the hue of your hide means you are to blame
And your father's misdeeds are his son's to carry in shame

Not mine I'll take no part
You can shove the sins of the your father where no light may pass
And kiss my Scandinavian ass

Pages of the past
How long will they last?
A lie lost in the legacy of fools left us this parody unsurpassed
Pages of the past
How long will they last?
The shadow of the Swastika by fools' fears now for far too long has been cast

You who think the hue of your hide means you get to blame
The black for your own faults and so bring humanity shame
Make sure you count me out of the ranks of your inbred morons
With your sewer gas and kiss my Scandinavian ass

Pages of the past
How long will they last?
A lie lost in the legacy of fools left us this parody unsurpassed

Now, as you can see, this song is a complete destruction of the Nazi witch-hunt that is still to this day, being used to undermine and discredit individuals. This kind of political predation needs to end immediately. To destroy not only someone's life and livelihood based on the fact that they are proud of their heritage is one of the most immoral action I can think of someone doing. I am personally disgust by people being equivocated to Nazis because they want to continue their own race without interference. This has become such a serious situation that you can be jailed in Germany simply for mentioning something about the Nazis. Books are banned, everything is censored. It's absolutely ridiculous.

Just to make my little rant a little concise I leave you with the simple question that is asked in this song. How long will the pages of the past continue to plague us?

It's not snow!

I did load my cooler up with snow and it made it down here just fine! I can make it snow in Miami and not with their version of snow!

Little edit: I did think of this post quite a lot over the last few days in Florida and I was reminded of the Chopin stories of the south. Not very accurate any more I'm afraid! But I did notice in southern Georgia a lot of the women were wearing dresses very similar to that old 1800's styles. Must have been some sort of festival or wedding. Who really knows!
